An Atmospheric Open-Air Engagement Shoot in Yogyakarta

Edward and Vonny first met in Melbourne back in 2009 and were together for 7 years straight before deciding to get married. Edward's intimate proposal took Vonny by surprise as she wasn't expecting that he would propose at that time. "It happened in Bandung. After dinner he suddenly kneeled and proposed. I was totally surprised and shocked. His face turned red and he looked super nervous. Honestly, so was I!" said Vonny. After saying yes, their wedding planning process begins.

For their pre-wedding photo shoot, Yogyakarta was their chosen destination. "I love nature so I wanted to have an outdoor photo-shoot. Dikhadeansa, our photographer, did all the planning. Set the concept, oversee my makeup and hairdo, even the dresses that I used!" Vonny shared.

The first location was Parangtritis Beach. On the shooting day, the couple's preparation started as early as 2 a.m. "There was no coffee, truly the hardest morning ever. But when the sun came up, all our efforts became so worth it" Vonny reminisced. Together with Dikhadeansa, the couple posed on the beach, basking the glorious morning rays of the sun which Vonny really loved. To exude a vintage look, Gumuk Pasir Yogyakarta became their next destination.

"For our last location, we discovered Watu Lumbung Beach. We might be the very first couples to shoot in that location as there were no pedestrian access and we had to climb down slippery cliffs to reach the spot. Once we got there, it was beyond beautiful. I have no words. I can only see the blue waters as far as my eyes can see, it was truly unforgettable," the bride-to-be reminisced. "Dikhadeansa was also very talented. He made the shoot felt very natural and his warm countenance lifted our mood as well. He just got his own unique way and before you know it, the shoot was done!" Vonny shared.
