Nadia and Victor always knew that they wanted a wedding in Bali. However, each side has a large extended family which poses the challenge of finding a venue with enough capacity. But when they stepped in Alila Uluwatu, they knew it was perfect. "The place is so serene and private. The sky just seems different from up there, overlooking the endless sea. The fact that we had the privilege to book the entire resort left us with endless possibilities and fewer restrictions," said Nadia.
The couple had been traveling together a lot, and both prefer beaches rather than cities and mountains. The beach and ocean, then, became their central concept for the wedding. Nadia's favorite city is Nice with its pebbled beach by the French Riviera. As the couple took their pre-wedding photos there, Nadia brought home a few pebbles which then became one of the color palettes for the wedding. "White, pink, grey and blue from the ocean. We wanted the whole thing to remind us of our little Nice getaway," explained Nadia.
The vibe of the wedding was also set to mimic the idea of relaxing by the beach: chill, effortless and comfortable. Nadia and Victor even advised their guests to dress as if they were going on a beach vacation. As for the future bride-to-be, she ended up with four dresses to wear on her special day. One of her signature dresses was the one she wore during the dinner reception. It was a simple gown with a layered tulle and a Mavis' wings-shaped crystal belt, like her last name.
"During the holy matrimony, my eyes were filled with tears the moment I stepped out to walk to my soon-to-be husband," Nadia recalled. "My dad tried to help me calm, but when he handed me over, he was the one who burst out into tears!" A genuine moment as such touched everyone's heart. After that beautiful and emotional ceremony, came the dinner reception. The groom surprised his newlywed wife by singing a song, only to be surprised back by the bride who couldn't keep her emotions contained while singing. The night ended with spectacular fireworks which signified the beginning of Nadia and Victor's journey as a happily married couple.
