Nina and Satya met in 2009, when they were both still law students in Bandung. "Our introduction happened in a truck when we were on our way to a site camp for a campus event," Nina reminisced. They never properly officiated their relationship and just went with the flow, having great affection for each other. That was until Satya surprised Nina with a proposal during a Coldplay concert in Sydney in 2016. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Nina and Satya wanted a vintage and classic vibe with a bit of Javanese twist, so it was rather hard to find a suitable location. They finally found a family home filled with antique decoration and props with Javanese characteristics. It was also very hard to choose a photographer because they felt awkward getting their pictures taken with cheesy and romantic poses. By chance, they fell in love with Jatidiri Ono on Instagram. "His pictures are artistic, showing raw emotions, natural with unique angles. His taste definitely suits ours," Nina explained.
On the shooting day, the couple was helped by Rahajeng, a friend who also happened to be Ono's friend, to style them. Nina and Satya both wore basic light-colored attires to contrast with the dark background of the location. The whole photo shoot gave out a vintage and artistic vibe, yet it remained casual thanks to the couple's choice of attires.
"It did not feel like a photo shoot at all, more like Satya and I hanging out and joking around all day," Shared Nina on how easy it was to work with Jatidiri Ono. "Because they knew how awkward we can be, Ono and Rahajeng kept joking and showering us with kind words," she added. As for the results? The couple loved it so much. "It seems that a photographer of choice needs to suit the couple's personality and taste, so the photo session becomes comfortable and full of chemistry," so said Nina.
