Today's couple proved that it's possible to survive a long-distance relationship for ten years! Agnes and William were high school sweethearts who started dating in 2006. "We went to college in different cities, I stayed in Makassar while Will went to Surabaya. Even after graduating, we were still separated as he moved to Jakarta for work," said Agnes. "We visited each other whenever possible and went through a lot of ups and downs. Throughout the years, we grew up and matured together," she continued.
William proposed to Agnes on a Christmas Eve two years ago back in their hometown of Makassar. "On the way, he suddenly stopped the car and gave me a gift box. Inside were heart-shaped sticky notes filled with our love stories. I read every note one by one, and the last one said 'Agnes, will you marry me?' He then pulled out the ring and asked me the question again," recalled Agnes.
After deciding on a wedding date, the pair soon planned a rustic-themed engagement session. "We wanted an elegant, classy, yet timeless pre-wedding album with simple, neutral-colored clothing," said Agnes. She finally settled on three elegant dresses by Yefta Gunawan, Melta Tan, and Petite & the Buns while William stayed classy in gray and navy suits.
Along with their photographer, Adi of Axioo, they headed to several charming spots in Kemang and the Old Town district of Jakarta. Things went smoothly but right after their second session, it started to rain heavily. "We had to stop the shoot as Adi's film camera couldn't work well under the heavy rain. Thankfully, he was able to squeeze in a session before catching his flight back to Bali on the next morning," Agnes reminisced.
The excitement didn't end after the photo shoot, as Agnes and Will had to wait for weeks while the film was developed and scanned. "When we finally got the photos, we were so impressed by the results. The photos turned out so beautifully, we were speechless!"
