Jessica and Dwi's first encounter happened during an out-of-town church event. "I was riding a bus with the other participants. Suddenly, the bus broke down before we could arrive at the venue. The committee had to pick everyone up by car, and I happened to be in the car that Dwi was driving," Jessica reminisced. Getting married became a natural decision for the pair, so Dwi never had to go down on one knee to ask for Jessica's hand in marriage. "He just asked to meet my parents, to discuss the future that he had planned for us both. To me, it was more romantic than a surprise proposal," Jessica added.
Jessica herself was not unfamiliar with the wedding industry. Through her successful cake business, Angie's Cake, Jessica had worked with many talented wedding vendors for various celebrations. For her own wedding to Dwi, she picked all her favorite vendors who brought their best to the table. After eight months of planning, Jessica and Dwi managed to have the one-of-a-kind, romantic yet rustic wedding that they had always wanted.
Around 1,000 people crowded Finna Golf and Country Resort in Prigen, East Java, to witness the sacred union. Jessica was glowing in a beaded off-shoulder dress by Fifi Firiyanti, while Dwi looked his most handsome self in a matching gray suit. Steve Décor worked his magic yet again, transforming the country club into a rustic woodland setting that looked so natural and welcoming. Clusters of white flowers and gold elements were also present, providing a soft contrast to the greenery-dominated venue. Honoring the special day, Jessica also provided not one, not even two or three, but six wedding cakes from her own kitchen.
The celebration was indeed lovely, but something stood out far above the beautiful decorations, cakes, and venue. The happy tears of the bridesmaids, the couples' laughter, the guests' excitement; through the photos captured by Summer Story Photography, you can tell that everyone was so genuinely involved in the celebration. "The night was overflowing with grace. We were so relaxed and excited, as we knew that the Lord had blessed our wedding," Jessica said.
More from the bride:
When planning a wedding, don't think too much. Just enjoy the process. Dwi and I had complete faith that it would not rain on the wedding day, so we had no plan B. It was a bit cloudy at first on the wedding day, and we were a bit nervous. But it didn't rain up till night time came, only a little drizzle during the wedding kiss. It was a bit weird as two kilometers below and above the venue it was raining hard up until midnight, but there was no rain at all at our wedding site!
