Nastasha Abigail and Dimas Ario are two art-loving personalities that tied the knot with a fresh twist to the usual wedding reception. Nastasha is a radio announcer, band member, and visual artist while Dimas is a music stylist, blogger, and digital marketer. Together they have collaborated on various music and media-related projects as well as several pop culture events in Jakarta. Their wedding, obviously, became another chance for an artistic collaboration.
After a grand and majestic ceremony with 800 guests at the Jakarta Cathedral, the couple set out to the hills that have been transformed into a wedding-worthy venue. The recreational park was dolled up with colorful decorations, and not just any decorations at that. At a closer look, the couple turned out to use a mixture of flowers and vegetables (yes, veggies) to create colorful backgrounds as well as that rustic barn feel. "The idea of using veggies came from the realization that flowers are beautiful yet costly. So we decided to switch them with some veggies. They're unique, colorful, and also have various shapes," explained the bride.
Another detail that made the wedding so personal was the art installation that replaced pre-wedding pictures. With the abundance of friends with creative and artistic talents surrounding them, it's a no-brainer that they received some artworks as gifts for their wedding. Hence this is what they chose to display at their reception. Not only did it bring a more artsy feel to the celebration, it also showed much of their personality.
The night continued to unfold and all the guests had a lot of fun. There were lots of singing and dancing, everyone had a great time. To Dimas and Abigail, this is what they loved most about the wedding. "For us, to see all our family and friends enjoying the celebration is of course the happiest part of the night," the couple said. It was a wonderful celebration indeed, and all the photos are waiting for you right here.
