Cissylia and Dan first met at work, when Dan had just joined the company after returning for good from London. "We had to work together for a pitch project, and became really close after my ex-boss set up a date for us just a few days after that. So basically, we started dating only a week after he came back to Indonesia, a rather quick start I would say!" Cissylia reminisced.
Their decision to get married also came naturally, without any surprises or dramatic proposals. "Dan asked for my hand in marriage to my parents, and a week after, our families had dinner together to discuss the wedding. Dan even let me pick my own engagement ring!"
"We wanted an intimate, rustic garden wedding at a venue by the beach. That way, we would be surrounded by nature," explained Cissylia. She then went scouting in Bali, where she found the perfect venue in the most unexpected way. "I was checking out a villa in Batu Belig when my wedding planner asked whether I wanted to see this newly-built villa right next to it. Back then I thought, why not," she said. When she stepped into the venue, it was as if her prayers had been answered. "I immediately screamed, 'This is it!' as soon as I came in. The venue is so beautiful, it's by the beach, has a nice garden and pool, also the architecture is super modern and super good looking," said Cissylia.
After settling with Villa Ombak Biru, Cissylia and Dan started pinning down other key vendors. "At first, I thought it would be hard to plan a wedding from a different city. But it turned out to be a lot easier than I thought as I could rely on emails, Whatsapp, and Bridestory too!" Cissylia said. The entire wedding planning process was so relaxed and stress-free that Cissylia was surprised to find Dan fussing about the smallest details. "He turned out to be a groom-zilla while I was the chillest bride, because I believed that everything was going to be fine," she said.
In the end, everything did happen flawlessly and even went beyond their expectations. "The weather was nice, the people were awesome, the food was amazing. Words can't describe how happy and blessed I am to have such a beautiful wedding," said the happy bride. Another thing that they were grateful for was how professional their vendors were. "If I had to choose my top three vendors, I'd go with Designmill Co. for their high-class decor, Bramanta Wijaya for being super creative with all of my five dresses, and Punyan Photography for his ability in capturing moments and quick editing," Cissylia stated.
