Sylvia and Jim used to work for the same company, but somehow never met until two years ago in Sydney. "We met when Jim was trying to sell a point of sales system to the hotel I worked for. Long story short, we started dating in November 2015," recalled Sylvia.
Throughout the years, Sydney remained an important place for Sylvia and Jim, even becoming the location of their wedding proposal. "We were visiting the city for my sister's graduation back in June 2016. We decided to have a fancy dinner at the Sydney Opera House one night. After dinner, he proposed to me right in front of that iconic building," Sylvia reminisced.
For their pre-wedding album, Sylvia and Jim wanted to have photos that are not only beautiful, but can also represent their relationship. It's no wonder then, that they chose Sydney as their engagement shoot location. "I guess the city of Sydney was our photo shoot concept. We wanted to be photographed at places we've been together," she said.
The lovely pair, along with Jonathan from Calia Photography, visited spots that had a special place in their hearts, including Hyde Park, Sydney Opera House, The Rocks, and even a gelato shop that they both love. "The photo shoot was very enjoyable and super fun, although we had to chase the sunrise for two days in a row and didn't get enough sleep," said Sylvia. "Jo was really patient. Even though he's still young, his quality of work is superb. He has become more than a photographer to us, he is a good friend," she continued.
For Jonathan himself, the photo shoot was just as unforgettable. "Seeing the memories they shared in Sydney really opened up my eyes about relationships and how a real engagement session should be captured. I really enjoyed photographing the both of them because of their strong chemistry," the photographer said.
