Last summer, Chen Jui-Yao and Gao Xiaolu tied the knot in downtown Miami at The Mandarin Oriental – the same place they got engaged. It was the perfect beach wedding where over 70 guests flew across the region to attend the young couple's pink and gold wedding affair.
The wedding thrived on intimacy with the bride personalising most of the décor and favours. Xiaolu made sand jars filled with thank you notes and gifted everyone with beach sandals. She also designed the wedding invitations and save-the-date cards.
They tied the knot outdoors at 8pm against the backdrop of Miami's stunning skyline. A harpist strummed romantic melodies, and the beaming bride radiated in a bustier gown by Rivini. Her groom looked dashing in Dior Homme.
After pre-dinner cocktails, guests were ushered to the ballroom glistening with gold interiors, and enjoyed a night of toasts, dancing and mouth-watering menu of seared beef fillet and miso black cod. A gorgeous three-tier chocolate cake with dulce de leche filling and red velvet cream cheese filling was served for dessert.
The highlight of the wedding was the ceremony when guests were each given a crystal to hold and bestow wishes upon on the couple before dropping it into a jar. "It has every guest's warm wishes. I still have that jar in our house now. We will definitely keep it for a lifetime."
