When two artistic souls who share mutual interest and similar life vision become acquainted with each other, it wouldn't come as a surprise if they eventually end up together. Niscaya and Adam first met in 2013 when she started working in Adam's company, which is a branding consultant agency in Jakarta. "We found that we share common values and life vision. He even declared his love for me in front of everyone in the office!" said Niscaya. From there, they began dating until finally Adam proposed to Niscaya two years later in Japan.
In Adam's artistic vision, he knew he had to propose to her in a creative way during their visit to Gion, Kyoto. Thus, with the help of their five friends on Niscaya's 26th birthday, Adam took the plunge by arranging a game that Niscaya must participate in to win a birthday present. Each of their friends were responsible for a challenge and all the challenges incorporated all the stuff she liked, such as photography, fashion, theatre, and even her favorite food, cheese. For instance, when she had to tackle the photography challenge, she was asked to take a picture of their friends in certain poses. The game ends at Gion, where Adam was already waiting for her.
"It was weird that Adam told me to look back at all the pictures from the photography challenge. He wanted me to read the uppercase of everyone's T-shirt. To my surprise, when I put it all together, it read 'Will You Marry Me?' In addition to the sweet proposal, he prepared another pair of T-shirt with 'Yes' and 'No' printed on it. Without hesitation, I said 'Yes'," reminisced the bride.
When asked about their pre-wedding shoot, the bride-to-be explained that they both only wanted an editorial kind of photo session, one that is minimalistic, clean, yet elegant. As both of them were graphic designers, it was natural that they wanted a different and unique concept for their most special day. "Most of our pre-wedding session was done in a studio, using only plain backgrounds and simple ornaments from nature like monstera leaves and cotton flowers," Caya said.
The pair knew exactly how to present their creative side. Against soft-colored backdrops, the photos of Adam and Niscaya looked like it came straight out of a magazine. Interestingly, they also brought their adorable puppy to the session and thus, making the whole album more intimate and personal. Their creativity didn't stop there; the pair then decided to head outside and present another pleasing aesthetic. For the final look, the shoot was set by the bay where they were dressed in harmoniously light and casual attires.
