According to the Chinese culture, an auspicious wedding date is the propitious wedding date that will bring joy and harmony to your marriage. Of course, this date is determined through reading the lunar calendar, so you might need to save your Gregorian calendar for later. Here are some of the dos and don'ts in picking an auspicious date!

Choose a year with Double Spring
A wedding date will be considered auspicious if it’s in the year with two Beginnings of Spring, also known as Lichun. This phenomenon is called “Double Spring” and it is regarded as good because the Beginning of Spring symbolizes the beginning of a new life. There are also years which has no Beginning of Spring, known as the “Blind Year”, one of which is 2019. Fortunately, it’s okay to get married in these less-preferable Blind Years as they still have auspicious dates in them!
