Many newlyweds place more importance on the honeymoon destination rather than the physical act of getting there. How about trying something new and go on a road trip, which accounts for most of the fun anyway? Here are five more reasons why.
1. Bonding time
Just like any free-and-easy honeymoon, road trips are planned on your own. This allows for more communication between you and your partner, which is important in the early stages of your marriage.
2. Own time, own target
Following your own schedule is the best schedule. Do what you want, when you want, where you want and how you want. If you would like to skip a sightseeing spot and sleep in. Why not? The trip can be as flexible as you.
3. More than just clouds
They say every cloud has a silver lining. Get out of the clouds and you would be able to see more along the way to your final destination. Because there is another saying: Every road leads to Rome. It's the journey that counts.
4. Get lost together
You may plan your road trip in another country and might not know the roads well. Maps aren't easily readable by many and it would take awhile to get a hang of it if you are not using GPS. This would put your teamwork to the test.
5. Fights make you stronger
Spending too much time together may create friction that you have never experienced as a couple. As you start spending the rest of your lives together, these fights during the road trip would help you and your partner get stronger.
