One Couple's Laid-Back and Homey Backyard Wedding

A wedding doesn't always have to be a grand affair to bring out a lasting impression and for this, Isaac and Nella are living proof. Their wedding is the perfect example of a modest yet memorable wedding celebration, tailored to create a relaxed and homey ambience for all the guests to enjoy. After the "I do", the couple and all guests went straight to the reception venue, which is a backyard of a friend's house that was already prepped with pretty DIY decorations and lots of fun activities. Charming handwritten chalkboard messages welcomed the guests and marked various fun spots, from the bar down to photo booth. Yet the loveliest thing about this wedding was how all friends and family really joined in on the fun. They sang, danced, and played silly games together, which made the celebration feel even more intimate. The wedding was held in Darwin, in the Northern Territory of Australia. It was an intimate, relaxed backyard wedding and the couple were both very relaxed the whole day. The wedding was also filled with many DIY touches and the ambience was very warm and comforting. The venue where the reception took place was a friend's house that backed onto a lagoon. The whole vibe was very atmospheric, from the fairy lights, the live acoustic performances, to the traditional dancing, it was a very intimate occasion. Everyone seemed to have a great time and all the people that contributed, family and friends, performed and sang songs throughout the night!
