Indie Couple's Traditional Wedding and Intimate Rustic Party

Celebrated twice in Bandung and Bogor, Rara and Ben's most memorable days of their lives were just as they had always imagined. Rara's family insisted on having a traditional wedding reception in Bandung, which turned out to be more like a family event. As she came from a big family, the wedding guests were mostly her parents' relatives and close friends. Rara and Ben drew inspiration from their rich cultural backgrounds and decided to go for a Javanese-Peranakan-themed wedding with a touch of Batak culture. Just see how they entertained their guests with the traditional North Sumatran tor-tor dance while wearing Javanese wedding attire. It was an enjoyable night worth cherishing, but their wedding celebration did not end there.

Both Rara and Ben have always wanted to have a simple and intimate wedding. Their rustic wedding celebration was as endearing as any intimate wedding could get. Without much effort, this chic couple turned Ben's parents' backyard in Bogor into a charming wedding venue. While their reception in Bandung was more of a family event, this wedding party was more like a laidback potluck gathering. Something from the bride:

Ben's friends from New Zealand came to the wedding after almost two years of not seeing each other, and I had my high school friends from San Diego coming after seven years of being apart. It was definitely a night to remember. It was a wedding potluck party, so we asked our friends to bring food, drinks, or desserts to the wedding. So many good food! It was amazing. We made the playlist for the wedding on our own and also had friends performing for us, so it was loads of fun. We had our photographer and photojournalist friends taking photos during the wedding using analog cameras. We provided each photographer with three rolls of black-and-white and color film and we are currently in the process of scanning all the photos. Hopefully, after careful editing and curation, we will publish the photos as a photo book. Ben and I also took photos during our wedding. It was an experience we did not get to do during the Bandung wedding.
