With Ivan and Anata, everything seems to be very simple and understated, yet beautiful. Their proposal too, was not dramatic or grand. Nevertheless, it was still deeply memorable. "It happened during our fifth anniversary dinner, at the same place where we had our first date. But he was so clumsy, I actually saw the ring when he picked me up," Anata said. The couple had always wanted to have an intimate wedding celebration surrounded by only their closest friends, but because of their strong Chinese heritage, it was a bit difficult to convince their family. "It wasn't easy to assure our family to have a private party with not too many guests. In the end, however, the struggle was worth it. Because truly, simple moments are ones that you will definitely remember."
Naturally, Anata and Ivan chose a timeless and elegant color palette consisting of the neutral colors ivory, white, and gold. Their venue, the garden area of Hotel Majapahit Surabaya was made even more beautiful thanks to the whimsical and romantic décor by Posh Decoration. The couple suited the scene very well, Anata in her Rhea Costa dress and brushed by Mila Wijaya, Ivan clad in a dapper gray suit by Bie Hin Tailor.
Like most other couples, Ivan and Anata had to go through all the stresses of wedding planning. Anata is very detail-oriented, so she wanted every single thing to be flawless. "I got really stressed out before the wedding day, especially with the amount of drama we had to endure. Thankfully, I had a great team who made my dream wedding come to life," said the bride. It was all very magical and just as Anata said, sharing special moments with their family and friends became a memory that they will cherish for the rest of their lives. I love almost everything from the wedding, but some are especially memorable. I love every detail of my wedding invitation, the ribbons, and especially how the calligraphy turned out. I also love my wedding dress. I won't forget the days when my sister and cousins accompanied me to find the perfect wedding dress. After four exhausting days, we flew back home empty handed. Surprisingly, I found a wedding dress in own my room. My parents had secretly bought it for me. The moment I tried it on, I knew that it was the one! It perfectly fits my figure, no wire, no corset, and as it's made from light and airy fabric, I was able to breathe when I ate and felt feather-light as I floated on the dance floor.
The venue is special for me. One day, I was driving home from work and passed by this hotel. I told myself that I'm going to get married here in front of my family and friends. I just love the architecture, so classic and beautiful. It didn't need much decoration and Posh Decor made it even more perfect that day; simple décor that didn't cover the venue's own beauty. Moreover, it was the perfect size for our guests and I loved all the original historic details it had to offer.
