Today's fashionable couple first met in 2015, during the launching of Direz's natural-dyed goods brand, Bluesville. They were introduced by Tria's partners from her own footwear brand, Havehad Footwear, who happened to be invited to the event. "We talked for a bit and he asked for the phone numbers of everyone from Havehad, including mine. Later on, I found out that he already had all my friends' numbers. It was just a trick to get my number," reminisced Tria.
After six months of dating, Direz met Tria's parents to ask for her hand in marriage. "I never thought that I would get my own proposal, as he already asked for permission from my parents," said Tria. Little did she know, Direz had prepared something special for her. "Exactly one year after our first meeting, we had dinner at the restaurant above his shop. After dinner, Direz went to check on his shop as usual. It was dark when I entered the shop, so I thought there was a power outage. But suddenly the light turned on and the words 'MARRY ME' were written on the wall," she recalled.
It took them only two weeks to decide on the right concept, wardrobe, and locations for their pre-wedding photo shoot. "Our theme was inspired by our fashion background. The concept was simple; we wanted to portray our everyday journey with style," explained Tria. "We wanted warm yet sophisticated photos taken at unique places from unusual angles," she continued. Along with their photographer and stylist, Hilarius Jason and Lilian Ng, the pair explored several iconic spots around Central Jakarta, including the Museum of Bank Mandiri, Senen Market, and the Chinatown area of Glodok.
They started their trip as early as 6 in the morning, taking the commuter train to have breakfast at Petak Sembilan, a traditional street market. "The trip was fun and exciting. Jason and Lilian were very lively throughout the day, making the whole session so enjoyable and memorable. As every picture was taken candidly, we didn't feel like it was a pre-wedding session at all," said Tria.
