If we could give just one piece of advice to all brides-to-be around the world, it would be: be yourself. Our bride today, Megan, is the perfect example. If beautiful brides are associated with long hair, Megan didn't hesitate to flaunt her short hair along with an adorable vintage birdcage veil. If beautiful brides are associated with sky-high stilettos, Megan managed to look as graceful as any brides, even in a pair of flats. The important thing is, Megan worked with her individuality and what's comfortable for her. As the result, she can truly enjoy her party. Alyssa Wilcox captured each unique and original bits of this wedding, and all of them are waiting for you right here.

Here's a little story from the couple:
Joseph and Megan spent their individual lives as hairdresser and artist, whose relationship manifested from a magnetic gaze across the foyer of a busy salon, where two smiling souls met – and in that moment – were suspended in time. The attraction was undeniable, so neither played hard to get. Joseph and Megan were virtually inseparable ever since. A myriad of factors joined them together, adding to both of their lives to create something greater than that which existed before, and that's what they wanted their wedding to represent.
The wedding was a cohesive mix of DIY — unique, stylish, upbeat, intimate, and rosewater schmaltzy from the opening words in the ceremony, through to the song choices in the reception. The groom spent most of his time anxiously waiting for his bride, worried about the thundering grey skies and the rain that was falling in buckets. Then, just before Megan is set to walk down the aisle, the wild blue yonder in the heavens open up, the yellow sun beaming with furious thunder in the background, and the bride walks to the absolutely appropriate song 'Storms Never Last' by Phosphorescent.
It was more poetic than they had ever dreamed of, with the sharing of a poem rather than vows, a colorful sand mixing instead of unity candles, and releasing of paper lanterns instead of rice or doves, making it more interactive and fun for their friends, family and honored guests. They danced the night away to songs like 'I Found You' by Alabama Shakes, 'Sunlight' by Bag Raiders, and Houndmouth's 'Long as You're at Home'. Joseph and Megan now spend their days working on building a strong salon environment at Studio 150 in Kirkland, Washington, seeking adventure and spiritual fulfillment in their spare time. Their love has grown exponentially and reached toward the infinite.
